In the post-war period, the Fontanelle business was managed by Count Alessandro, a botanist, and in the 1950s by his son Marco, who dedicated his life to turning the holding from a sharecropping system into a modern, well-organised estate, in tune with its natural surroundings. Since 2011, his daughters Alessandra and Andriana have taken on the family business by actively involving their grandchildren in the many activities, starting with Giovanni Mazzei who manages the wine section and marketing.
